The weeks have flown by here at Downs Park School and we are already half way through the Spring term.
We would like to remind you that the Half Term Holiday is next week and the school will be closed from Monday 17th February 2014 to Friday 21st February 2014 and will re-open on Monday 24th February 2014.
We hope that you enjoy the break and that we all see a little more sunshine and a lot less rain!
For other 2013-14 term dates please see Diary Dates and details of future visits and outings can be found on our School Events page.
You can keep up to date with what's happening across all three of the CDP Federation schools through our new weekly blog.
Welcome to Downs Park. We are part of the CDP Federation of special schools with Patcham House Special School and Cedar Centre. Our school is a Community Special School maintained by Brighton and Hove Council. We have 84 pupils on roll, aged 4 to 16 years. The school is staffed to provide an education for pupils with a variety of learning difficulties who are in possession of a Statement of Special Educational Needs.
The school has expertise in a range of special needs which may be associated with learning difficulties, the foremost of these being in pupils with Autistic Spectrum Conditions and Attachment Disorder. Downs Park has ten classes, three of which are for pupils with Autism. It also manages the two mainstream ASC facilities at the West Blatchington Schools.
We are situated in Portslade Old Village, and occupy a site on the edge of the South Downs with views over the sea and Shoreham Harbour.
